Here are Ron's "Five Rules For Life":

1.) Be true to yourself.
You know who you are, you know how you are, and you know what you are. Understand, admit, and acknowledge these traits. Any decision you make without them being considered and understood will be the wrong decision.

2.) It is the journey that matters not the end result.
Make sure you do not lose focus of the journey you have to go through. The end will happen but it is always a direct result of the journey taken. Skipping steps, working hard, and doing what needs to be done will all yield an end result. Which journey will you take?

3.) Enjoy the moment.
Enjoy the moment you have - whether it is with your family, friends, faith, or profession. Enjoy it, live it, and love it. You will remember and appreciate every moment more.

4.) It is what you do when no one is around that matters.
This is one of the most important things to remember. Whether you are on a business trip, with family, in school, at work, or play. What you do when no one is around creates a sense of character, pride, accomplishment, and ultimately satisfaction.

5.) Don't ever give up.
Do not let anyone ever accuse you of giving up. Give it your best shot, try, try, try...and then try again. If you believe in something, continue to pursue it until you achieve it - in one way or another you will. Do not be afraid to fail, but always be afraid to quit.

...editor's note - on a personal level, Ron said something to me over a decade ago that has helped me keep things in perspective through good times and bad..."you are never as good as you think you are at your best or as bad as you think you are at your worst". Thanks Ron!

Ron currently resides in Houston, Texas.
